Our ONS Village Crew T-shirt is designed to go everywhere and do anything. And this month, we felt no one better embodied that ethos than photographer Daniel Cavanaugh, a true urban transplant who moved from Arizona to New York to make it. And make it he has, racking up a slew of incredible clients and fashion campaigns, while still finding time to focus on his artistic interests and hobbies, like shooting landscapes and collecting vintage cameras. We visited Daniel at his home in Willamsburg recently, to kit him out with a selection of Village Crew tees and to have him show us around, taking us to his favorite park and bookstore, Spoonbill & Sugar Booksellers.
"I love old film cameras and I've been collecting them for years."
"Whenever I travel, I bring my 35mm point-and-shoot camera. It's simple to carry and I like shooting film because it allows me to be more thoughtful about the photographs I take."
"As humans we can be so centered on ourselves, but there's something so refreshing about being out in nature in an open landscape. To me it's a reminder that we're all so small and this world is big and infinite."
